Often described as the "mocha of tea", organically-grown buds and leaves offer a malty aroma, a slightly peppery, smooth taste and a mouth-filling, sweet finish. This classic black has long been enjoyed as a breakfast tea and it goes very well with food and will be enjoyed as a refreshing cup most anytime. It chills to a tasty iced tea as well! <br> <br>You will note the leaves are large to preserve the natural flavors and bring a richer, deeper flavor to the cup and to afford you multiple steeps! • Origins: Our Yunnan black is a Dian Hong style black tea. Single origin and grown organically in the higher elevations of Yunnan Province. Often referred to as the "Mocha of Tea", it offers a full-bodied, malty flavor with delicate spiciness. As the leaves are large and "soft" they yield a lush, full-flavored tea that will cup to a rich, russet-red color. This bright, clean coloration well exemplifies the process of oxidization of the leaf and thus its denotation as a Dian Hong or "red" tea in China. Yunnan Black is widely enjoyed as a breakfast black tea and are often held to develop complexity in flavor as they age.
• Artisinal Craftsmanship: We look for two things in selecting this tea: Cultivation using organic practices alongside with rich, malty and sweet flavors. The craftsmanship in processing was evident by the tea's appearance - the leaves are consistent in size with a nice accentuation of golden bud. Its' distinctive clear, russet-red cup color reflects the skill in the oxidization process with a resulting clean "red" liquor color offering plenty of flavor.
• Bold & Refreshing: Savor a rich and full-bodied taste, whether brewed warm for comfort or chilled for a crisp refreshment.
• Mindful Tasting: Leaves will steep to creamy and malty sweet notes with a thirst quenching sweetness in the finish. Taste is clean and lingering. Some flavor of caramel and spice.
• Mindful Brewing: One tea bag per 8-12 ounces of water at a temperature at 195-205° F. We suggest a steep of 3 minutes to experience the variety of flavors offered. Longer steeps will give more body to the cup. Leaves will steep multiple times. Our tea bags are also non-GMO biodegradable corn silk. USDA Organic. Enjoy hot or iced!
