Super hot with a little sour and a little sweet, this sauce if veery hot right off the bat with a fairly quick ramp down time. So Cherry Limeade had been created, but it was just for friends and family, and there were no labels. The feedback from a picture of a handful of bottles on Facebook (and a small reddit post, you can find it on r/salsasnobs) was huge, and the idea was born to maybe, possibly do something about it. So back to the store (stores at this point, peppers aren’t a big section at most grocery stores near me), shopping for peppers and ingredients. I basically bought a couple pounds of every pepper, and a bunch of most of the fruits that I could find, and bought every bottle of white wine vinegar on the shelves. My initial plan was to come up with at least one more as good as the Cherry Limeade. I remembered back to my attempt using my paltry handful of tobasco peppers, and I knew this next hot sauce needed to be red. So I sorted out all the red ingredients I had, and narrowed it down to Ghost Peppers, Red Jalapenos, and Pomegranate as the main sweetener. 4 or 5 variations later, and the second Poor Vida Hot Sauce was ready to rock - Pomegranate Ghost. - Colin
