After milling, the rice is polished, resulting in a seed with a bright, white, shiny appearance. This enhances the flavor, texture and appearance of the rice (compared to brown rice) and helps prevent spoilage <b>extending its shelf-life to over 25 years!</b> We source our Non-GMO rice from farmers in Arkansas, USA. Because it’s a favorite among all ages and stores so well, it’s one of our best-sellers. An excellent side dish or addition to casseroles, soups, etc., it can also be milled into a fine flour for gluten-free baking. As a good source of thiamine and folate it’s an essential addition to any food storage supply. <li><b>FOOD STORAGE RECOMMENDATION</b>: Sources recommend +/- 300 lbs of grain per adult per yr., including wheat, oats, rice, pasta, etc. Families with gluten sensitivity will store more rice & oats than wheat. Our 4-gallon heavy-duty stackable square buckets are lined with re-sealable Mylar bags with large Oxy Pack inserts to stay delicious & pest-free for over 25 years!</li> <li><b>MYLAR & OXY PACK CARE</b>: The Mylar is heat-sealed (which makes the bag re-sealable). Our Mylar can be opened then quickly heat-sealed, providing access to your foods over the years without losing freshness.
