Goldenseal Root, Hydrastis canadensis, is a natural herb in the buttercup family. It's native to northeastern woodlands in New England, Quebec, and Canadian Maritime Provinces. Goldenseal Root is thick, knotted, and yellowish, blooming in late May to early June, bearing a raspberry-like fruit in summer, and dying back in late September to October.
